Today we celebrate another world laboratory animal day, sharing a podcast in which researchers from the field of Laboratory Animal Science participated, both associated with SPCAL, including the vice-president of SPCAL Nuno Henrique Franco:

SPCAL takes the opportunity to reiterate the relevance of animal experimentation that is still necessary, as well as the investment in researching alternative models to animals and methodologies that allow reducing the number of animals used for scientific purposes, in a constant application of the principle of Russell's 3Rs and Burch (Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement) integrated into a culture of caring.
This world day recalls the value of all animals already used in scientific research whose results allow the development of scientific knowledge, diagnoses and treatments, contributing to the health and quality of life of people and animals.
