NORECOPA newsletter - Now in English

NORECOPA - Norway's National Consensus Platform for the advancement of "the 3 Rs" now publishes its newsletter in English. This platform has an extensive database of all 3Rs, including thousands of images, videos, and diagrams of great usefulness for teaching (and learning on) laboratory animal science.

SPCAL Practical course in Animal Experimentation - Coimbra 11-12 July

SPCAL and the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra will hold on July 11st and 12nd another edition of the practical course of animal experimentation. In conjunction with theoretical training, this course allows applying for a license by the Competent Authority, the DGAV, for carrying out procedures on animals for scientific or educational purposes Registration Fee: 300 euros for SPCAL members | 350 euros for non-members SPCAL Interested parties should send email to: isabel.vitoria@netcabo.pt

Three SPCAL members certified as official trainers on severity classification of procedures by FELASA

On April 28th 2017 FELASA carried out a 'train the trainer' workshops for certified trainers in classification of severity of procedures according to Directive 2010/63 / EU. SPCAL had three of its associates - Dolores Bonaparte, Magda Castelhano-Carlos and Nuno Franco - represented, who will now organize training sessions together with FELASA in Portugal. The first official training session will take place in November, in Lisbon. More information available soon.
